After the first meeting held in Corte in July 2017, AUREF is making a stopover in Annecy. The first notable change is in AUREF's structure: the informal gathering has given way to a permanent association. Another is the widening of the circle, with 34 establishments - half of all French universities - now taking part in the discussions. Last but not least, the opening address by Jean-Luc Rigaut, President of the Assemblée des Communautés de France, underlined the importance given to the territorial, social and civic dimensions of higher education and research, as well as to the issue of contractual dialogue.
