After the first meeting held in Corte in July 2017, the AUREF is now moving on to Annecy. The first notable development concerns the structure of the AUREF: the informal gathering has given way to a permanent association. Another development is the expansion of the circle, as 34 institutions, half of all French universities, now identify with the discussions that have been initiated. Finally, the opening of the proceedings by Jean-Luc Rigaut, President of the Assembly of French Communities, sets the tone for these days: the importance given to the territorial, social and civic dimensions of Higher Education and Research, as well as to the issue of contractual dialogue.
