Every Wednesday evening, a digital film!

Wednesday February 14 at 7:30pm, Univerciné presents the film "Human Flow".

Directed by Ai Weiwei
With Boris Cheshirkov, Peter Bouckaert
Genre: Documentary
Nationality: German
Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes

Synopsis:

More than 65 million people have been forced to leave their homelands to escape famine, climate change and war: the largest migratory flow since the Second World War. Directed by internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei, HUMAN FLOW addresses the catastrophic scale of the migrant crisis and its terrible humanitarian repercussions.

Filmed over the course of a year in 23 countries, the documentary focuses on the trajectories of suffering men and women around the world - from Afghanistan to Bangladesh, France to Greece, Germany to Iraq, Israel to Italy, Kenya to Mexico and Turkey. HUMAN FLOW gathers the testimonies of migrants who tell of their desperate quest for justice and security. They tell us about overcrowded refugee camps, high-risk journeys at sea, borders bristling with barbed wire, their feelings of distress and disillusionment, but also their courage, resilience and determination to integrate. They talk about the lives they had to give up, and the absolute uncertainty of a better future.

HUMAN FLOW arrives on our screens at a time when humanity needs tolerance, compassion and trust in others more than ever. It bears witness to man's spiritual strength, and asks us about one of the essential questions of our time: will globalized society manage to extricate itself from fear, isolation and withdrawal? Will it be able to turn towards openness to others, freedom and respect for human rights?
