ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Landscape paintings from our museums, engravings from old books, but also photographs of today's landscapes can be found on our telephone or computer screens. What does this change in our relationship to landscapes? Do landscapes become closer, in these images at hand? Do their transformations, sometimes radical, strike us more, when we access, for example, a whole series of photographs of the same landscape? Doesn't there also appear to be a new formatting in the representation of landscapes with online images?
We will try to answer these questions by presenting various digital devices, including the Landscape Photographic Observatories, on the occasion of the publication of the book Representing the landscapes yesterday and today. Sensitive and digital approaches (end 2019 at the Presses Universitaires Savoie Mont Blanc, LLSETI, collection " Patrimoines ", under the direction of Dominique Pety, Hélène Schmutz and Pascal Bouvier).
