As part of the LAPP and LAPTh Wednesdays series, the Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP) and the Annecy Laboratory of Theoretical Physics (LAPTh) are organizing a lecture titled “Art and Science,” which will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the LAPP/LAPTh facilities on the Annecy campus, and will be preceded by a tour of the EUTOPIA discovery center from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This lecture will be presented by Paul Sorba, emeritus researcher at LAPTh.

About the conference

This conference offers a reflection on the relationship between art and science, and between artists and scientists. Profound changes have taken place in the arts over the past century, while spectacular advances have occurred in the sciences. How do the conceptual revolution in ideas, on the one hand, and the explosion of technology, on the other, influence artistic innovation? And conversely, how do scientists draw inspiration from advances in the arts?

About Tours of the EUTOPIA Space
