LEARNING DEPARTMENT
The Department of Digital and Remote Support for Student Success (APPRENDRE) assists faculty members in developing educational activities tailored to today’s students.
The department's responsibilities are:
- train and support the professional development of the university’s teaching staff,
- support the relevant faculty and staff at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc in adopting new teaching practices,
- advise the institution and monitor developments in university pedagogy and digital technology within an educational context,
- network to bring together the various stakeholders in digital higher education around joint initiatives
THE INSTITUTE FOR TRANSITIONS
The Institute for Transitions is a department established in December 2023 at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc to strengthen the university’s engagement and impact in its local community and to contribute to the understanding and support of environmental, industrial, and societal transitions.
- Facilitates collaboration, breaks down silos, and promotes systemic and interdisciplinary approaches across the university’s various areas of activity: innovation, research, education, and knowledge dissemination.
- Involves all university units (departments, laboratories) and members of the university community (faculty, staff, and students), as well as its stakeholders.
- Strengthens the USMB’s commitment and visibility in its priority areas: human-environment interactions, cultural heritage and changing societies, and future services and industries.
- It is organized around three main missions: promoting interdisciplinary research in the institution’s areas of specialization, developing interdisciplinary education and strengthening the links between education and research, and fostering collaborative research and innovation (including the PITON initiative and the PTMI)

ACCENTS
As a university center specializing in teaching French to non-native speakers, ACCENTS offers courses in French as a Foreign Language (FLE). Accredited with the “Qualité FLE” label, ACCENTS also administers the Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) and Diplôme d’approfondissement en langue française (DALF), the Tests d’évaluation de français (TEF), and the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) for students, professionals, applicants for French citizenship, those seeking to immigrate to Canada or Quebec, and any non-French speaker wishing to certify their level of French internationally.
