652 Lecturers, professors, researchers, 317 PhD students, 40% of whom are international, 143 technical and administrative research support staff, 82 Directors, and research fellows (CNRS, INRAE, ARD), HRS4R (Human Resources for Research) label, 18 Research units including 11 mixed research units with CNRS, INRAE and IRD, 5 Research Federations, 10 Doctoral Schools including 2 at USMB: Sciences, Engineering, Environment (SIE), and Cultures, Societies, Territories (CST).

International rankings

Ranked in the Shanghai ranking for the 7th year running thanks to the excellence of its research,université Savoie Mont Blanc confirms its place among the best and joins the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) international ranking for the year 2025. In the same year, the USMB also features in THE's new international ranking, theInterdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025international rankings, placing it in the top third of universities worldwide.
