The MOBUS mobility plan
A mobility plan for students and staff at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc
For the first time, an institution is committing to a mobility plan covering the Savoie and Haute-Savoie regions, in collaboration with three urban areas, with the aim of initiating joint and interdepartmental actions. This new MOBUS plan is intended to provide a framework for all the mobility actions proposed by the USMB, notably incorporating those included in the various sectoral plans.
The MOBUS plan also addresses the issue of student travel as part of their education (semesters abroad, internships, etc.) and staff travel as part of their professional activities (research, training, and administration).
Presentation of the USMB Mobility Unit
Since April 2022, a mobility unit bringing together USMB stakeholders has been set up. It is organized around the USMB mobility officer and supported by staff from various departments (vice president for environmental transition, heritage department, prevention department, operations department) and by teacher-researchers involved in sustainable development missions within their respective departments. The unit also has strong links with local authorities and the ecomobility agency, which has a member who is a quasi-permanent guest. The group is open depending on the topics and regularly invites local authority representatives to share in the discussions.
The action plan
This plan is organized into three parts:
- Information and awareness-raising activities
- Actions promoting eco-mobility: cycling, buses, and car use
- Specific frameworks related to USMB activities: training, research, and administration
