As part of the 11th Italian Film Festival, a conference on the Italian Risorgimento and the "Roman Question" is being held at the Maison des Associations in Chambéry. The event will be led by Laura Fournier-Finocchiaro, Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Grenoble Alpes, and has been organized in collaboration with the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc.
About the conference:
The unification of Italy in the 19th century raised the issue of the annexation of the Papal States and Rome to the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia. This "Roman question," which involved European public opinion, was the source of persistent tensions between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Italy after the capture of Rome on September 20, 1870.
Event proposed in connection with the film " Rapito," which will be screened on November 22 at 8:45 p.m. at the L'astrée cinema.
