FromMarch 8 to April 5, the"Plus d'égalité" (More Equality) Festivalwill take place on the campuses of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) and at partner venues. The goal of the various events at this festival is to take the time to ask questions, accept confrontation, imagine solutions, and above all, reflect and debate together on issues of equality. USMB offers conferences, round tables, and meetings with artists and specialists who will question our representations of the relationship between women and men.
On Thursday, March 29, at the Chambéry/Jacob-Bellecombette campus, the conference“LGBT and Discrimination: What Legal Tools Are Available to Address Societal Change?” will be held, featuringLouis-Georges Tine, Iris Médina, and Monique Droguet, members ofthe Contact association, and Olivier Taix, as part ofthe Comparative Politics course. It will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3. Free admission.
This conference is being organized as part of Diversity and Equality Week, a student-led initiative spearheaded by Olivier Taix, a student at the USMB School of Law, and supervised by Mr. Florent Viaud.
Meeting with speaker Louis-Georges Tine
Louis-Georges Tin is a French activist involved in the fight against homophobia and racism. A graduate of the École normale supérieure, he holds an agrégation and a doctorate in literature. He is currently a lecturer at the IUFM in Orléans and also teaches at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales. He is also president of the Representative Council of Black Associations in France (CRAN) and founder of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
