As part of the 30th Mental Health Awareness Weeks, Savoie Mont Blanc University is participating in the conference “Children and Screens: Finding the Right Balance,” on Tuesday , March 12, 2019 , from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., at the Eurêka Gallery (“between Midi and Sciences”).
Whether it’s a computer, tablet, television, or smartphone, screens are everywhere in children’s daily lives. While excessive screen time carries risks, digital tools can also play a beneficial role from an educational standpoint. What do we know about the real impact of screens on the brain and health? How and why have screens become part of educational practices? How can we strike a balance to make the most of their benefits?
In the presence of:
- Arnaud Carré, associate professor and researcher in psychology at the Interuniversity Laboratory of Psychology – Personality, Cognition, and Social Change at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc
- Sylvie Melin, teacher and digital coordinator for schools in the Chambéry 4 district
This event is also part of the 21st annual Brain Awareness Week, which runs from March 11 to 17, 2019.
