ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The building sector is responsible for 17% of greenhouse gas emissions and accounts for almost half of energy expenditure in France. With around 4.8 million homes considered to be energy inefficient and faced with the climate emergency, the government is stepping up its measures to tackle these energy-intensive homes. Energy-efficient renovation therefore plays a central role in the fight against climate change, but also provides the most vulnerable households with decent housing, combats energy poverty while promoting social justice, and creates jobs. To achieve the goals France has set for itself, numerous measures have been put in place, including new energy regulations and financial assistance for the most disadvantaged households. With energy prices soaring, what impact will all these measures have on different areas of the economy and society?
