ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Science aims to study the world around us and arrive at some form of truth. To do this, it uses what is known as "the scientific method." This concept is taught in school and is also promoted by scientists themselves to justify their approach. However, it contains interesting and sometimes thorny subtleties that need to be understood in order to be able to compare scientific discourse with other discourses we encounter as citizens (opinions and beliefs, in particular).
Examples of the implementation of "the" scientific method at different times and in different disciplines will illustrate the diversity of situations covered by this term.
