The conference “Physical Activity and Health: What If It All Depended on the Perception of Effort?”, presented by Florian Monjo, a faculty member and researcher at the Interuniversity Laboratory of Motor Biology (LIBM) – Faculty of Science and Mountain Studies (SceM), will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2027, at 6:30 p.m. at the Turbine Cinéma, Rue de l’Arlequin, Cran-Gevrier, 74960 Annecy.

About the conference

Engaging in regular physical activity is essential for good health. Despite growing public awareness, many people give up due to persistent obstacles: fatigue, lack of time, competing priorities… Yet the scientific evidence is clear: physical activity is a powerful driver of good health, while a sedentary lifestyle is a major risk factor.

The obstacle is not just motivation, but the neuropsychological perception of effort, which is often experienced as too taxing. Neuromodulation techniques are being explored to reduce this negative perception, make exercise more enjoyable, and promote long-term commitment.
