The lecture “Watch Out, It’s Heating Up in the Arctic!”, presented by Glenn Yannic, a faculty member and researcher at the Laboratory of Alpine Ecology (LECA) – Faculty of Sciences and Mountain Studies (SceM), will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at La Turbine Cinema, Rue de l’Arlequin, Cran-Gevrier, 74960 Annecy.
About the conference
The Arctic is now on the front lines of global climate change. The rapid environmental changes currently underway are affecting its biodiversity and the functioning of its marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Research in Arctic ecology must address many questions.
What is the relationship between sea ice and Arctic wildlife? How does pollution affect the survival and population dynamics of seabirds? How can human communities interact with the Arctic environment to ensure sustainable resource management and the preservation of this fragile and unique ecosystem?
