The lecture "From quantum mechanics to artificial intelligence, there is only one step," presented by Gilles Parez, professor and researcher at the Annecy-le-Vieux Laboratory of Theoretical Physics (LAPTh), UFR Sciences et Montagne (SceM), will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at La Turbine Cinéma, Rue de l'arlequin, Cran Gevrier, 74960 Annecy.
About the conference
Quantum mechanics and artificial intelligence (AI) have each, in their own way, revolutionized our view of the world. The former has overturned our understanding of reality by revealing a universe where particles can be superimposed and entangled. The latter is redefining our relationship with information and decision-making.
At the heart of these two revolutions lies a common concept: what is it? What are the deep connections between these two fields? How do ideas from physics inspire AI, and how, in turn, do AI methods allow us to explore new horizons in physics?
This conference is part of the program for the 2025 Science Festival.
It will also be held:
- Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Albertville
