The conference "The torrents of Savoie: markers of climate change," presented by Laurent Astrade, lecturer and researcher, and Anaïs Fichot, doctoral student at the Laboratory of Mountain Environments, Dynamics, and Territories (EDYTEM) – UFR Sciences et Montagne (SceM), will take place on Wednesday, March 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at La Turbine Cinéma, Rue de l'Arlequin, Cran-Gevrier, 74960 Annecy.
About the conference
Torrential streams, receptacles for erosion cascading down from high mountains, and their cones, living spaces for mountain populations, are formidable witnesses to the interactions between mountain dynamics, human societies, and climate change.
Based on a geo-historical reading of Alpine territories, the challenges raised and the responses provided by managers in the context of climate change will be highlighted.
