The lecture "Particle physics: the great divide?" presented by Paul SORBA, Emeritus Research Director at the CNRSatthe Annecy Laboratory of Theoretical Physics(LAPTH),UFR Sciences et Montagne, will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the USMB Presidency in Chambéry.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

An activity that began centuries ago to understand the fundamental laws of nature, particle physics has led us into the infinitely small, while raising questions about the infinitely large. What path led us there? Where are we now? If "the book of nature is written in the language of mathematics," as Galileo proclaimed, enormous experiments—those conducted at CERN in Geneva in particular—are necessary to decipher it.
