ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
At 50° south latitude, the Patagonian karst, the southernmost on the planet, offers spectacular scenery and exceptional underground cavities. In extreme climatic conditions, over more than 20 years, a series of expeditions has uncovered incredible formations, explored Chile's largest chasms, and discovered the caves
decorated by the Kawésqar Indians, the "nomads of the sea." As a result of this research, Madre de Dios Island, the largest of these islands with marble glaciers, is now a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status.
