December 12, 2019, 8:00 p.m.

On Thursday, December 12, 2019, the Science-Actions association invites you to discuss the brain. The Café Scientifique event, entitled "What everyday actions can we take to save the planet?" , will be held at the MJC (Bartem space) at 311 Faubourg Montmélian in Chambéry, starting at 8 p.m.

What everyday actions can we take to save the planet?

The wikiHow tutorial site offers a guide to "saving the planet" in just 17 steps! Starting with saving water and energy in everyday activities and making conscious consumer choices, it goes on to encourage participation in collective actions at the local level or in larger organizations. But how can we know which individual actions are most likely to improve our collective situation in the face of environmental challenges? And do everyday actions make sense if we work for companies that are "stuck in short-term profitability" and vote for elected officials "who only think about the next election"? We invite you to come and discuss the actions that have the greatest impact in responding to current environmental challenges, and the interrelationships or contradictions between individual and collective actions. With the help of orders of magnitude, explanations of the issues, and various testimonials, we will be able to better understand the actions we can take today to leave a more habitable planet for our children tomorrow.
