The science film“Decorated Caves, Sacred Sites, Built Sites: In Search of the First Artists and Architects,” presented by Jean-Jacques Delannoy, a university professor at the EDYTEM laboratory, will take place on Monday, November 15, at 8:30 p.m. at the Astrée cinema in Chambéry.
Admission is free. A valid health pass will be required to enter the screening.
ABOUT THE SESSION
The study of decorated caves and rock art sites highlights that they hold a special place in the territories of past Paleolithic societies, but also of early peoples who were still relatively new to cave art.
Through examples taken from different continents (Europe, Australia, North America, etc.), we are offered a journey through time, exploring societies and their geography. Beyond their artistic merit, these sites have a unique history of the relationships that these societies maintained with their environment, the underground world, the sacred, and others.
