Symposium: "Brexit and Public Finances"

November 29, 2019, 2:00 p.m. - November 29, 2019, 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, November 29, the Antoine Favre Law Research Center is hosting a symposium on “Brexit and Public Finance.” It will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the President’s Lecture Hall at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc in Chambéry.

Public finances are a key issue in the negotiations over the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union. The consequences of Brexit have been felt since the announcement of the referendum results in 2016 and are expected to be long-lasting, both for the United Kingdom and for the European Union and its member states. This conference provides an opportunity to analyze the financial implications of Brexit, first for the United Kingdom (“Brexit and British Public Finances”), then regarding “the negotiation of the financial settlement,” and finally concerning European finances (“The Consequences of Brexit on European Public Finances”).
