This month, the USMB University Libraries are focusing on climate issues. From January 16 to 27, five mini-conferences featuring scientific experts will be held at the Bourget-du-Lac University Library and are open to everyone to learn, reflect, discuss, and take action for the climate!
At the same time, three exhibitions —also on the topic of climate change—can be visited at the Annecy and Le Bourget-du-Lac university libraries.

Who better than scientific experts to take stock of the state of the climate today? In just 30 minutes, our teacher-researchers will share their knowledge with you! Join us at your campus library in Bourget-du-Lac from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. to discuss the second theme of the conference series:
“Ice beneath the rocks: how is global warming affecting mountain permafrost?” Xavier Bodin, CNRS researcher at the EDYTEM laboratory: "The melting of this 'slope cement' that is mountain permafrost is a cause for concern in the scientific world and has concrete consequences in terms of natural hazards, particularly in the Alps. In this context
is the acceleration and destabilization of rock glaciers observed since the 1990s a cause for concern? With nearly 1,500 rock glaciers in the French Alps, covering an area of more than 80 km², the recent and future evolution of these geomorphological indicators typical of permafrost is being better and better understood...
