The Languages, Literature, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies Laboratory (LLSETI) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), in collaboration with the Migrant'scène festival and the NGO CCFD-Terre Solidaire, is organizing a conference on November 23 at 6 p.m. entitled "Climate Migration and Border Security: What Role for International Organizations?"
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
This conference, aimed at the general public and students of the Master's program in Applied Foreign Languages, specializing in Crisis Analysis and Humanitarian Action, as well as law students at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, will focus on better understanding the role of international organizations in managing climate migration. What role can they play in protecting the rights of climate migrants and in building an international legal framework for the equitable sharing of responsibilities? How do they manage the tension between humanitarian and security concerns? To what extent can they influence the reception policies of states? How do they interact with humanitarian organizations at the local level?
