January 15, 2020, 6:00 p.m. - January 15, 2020, 8:00 p.m.

As part of a series of philosophical lectures on ethical issues, the Langages, Literature, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies (LLSETI) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) and the Association of Philosophy Teachers in Public Education are organizing a conference on the theme “Dagognet’s Biological Philosophy and Ethical Issues,” led by Pascal Bouvier, associate professor of philosophy at USMB.

This lecture will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Room 3 of the USMB Administration Building in Chambéry.

About the conference

As a philosopher and physician, François Dagognet taught generations of students an open, curious, and joyful epistemology. An iconoclastic philosopher, he reflected on living beings as much as on life itself. This presentation will demonstrate how a way of thinking that draws on both Canguilhem and major medical theories can help us understand our contradictions and uncertainties.
