LAPP 50th Anniversary Conference

As part of the 50th anniversary of the Annecy Particle Physics Laboratory (LAPP), the LAPP is organizing a conference titled “A History of the Universe: From the Big Bang to the Present Day and Beyond,” which will take place on Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the LAPP facilities on the Annecy campus.

This lecture will be presented by Yann Mambrini, a CNRS research director at LAPP.

About the conference

From the birth of space to the first galaxies, including the first light and the first atoms, Yann Mambrini will trace the history of the universe in seven major stages, like the seven days of a week.

Throughout this story, he will paint a portrait of the most important—and also the most mysterious—players in this grand cosmic drama: the inflaton, dark matter, black holes, and dark energy.

From the earliest moments of the Universe to its distant future, this lecture will take you on a journey through 13.8 billion years of cosmic history—and beyond…
