[Lecture canceled due to the speaker's unavailability]
This year, the University of Savoie Mont Blanc and its Faculty of Law are hosting the eighth cycle of "Comparative Political Life Conferences," featuring witnesses and researchers in the social sciences and humanities (sociology, philosophy, history) whose work sheds light on major contemporary socio-political issues. For the first time, three meetings will be organized as part of student initiatives, set up and led by students.
The third lecture in the series will take place on Thursday , March 21 , 2019 , from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3 on the Jacob-Bellecombette campus, featuring Isabelle Jarjaille, who will address the question: “Public services outsourced to the private sector: who benefits from the deal?”
Isabelle Jarjaille is a freelance journalist and a professor at the IUT in Lannion, Brittany. She is a regular contributor to Médiacités and La Gazette des communes, particularly on topics related to local government and public services. With a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Lyon II, she will speak to us about her career path and her view of the civic role of her profession. In particular, she will present the findings and implications of her latest investigation, published by Éditions Yves Michel (2018): Public Services Outsourced to the Private Sector: Who Benefits from the Deal?
