More than 2.7 million students are eligible to vote for their representatives on the CROUs for the 2018 academic year. The University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) will set up polling stations on its three campuses on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, to elect representatives to the CROU Grenoble-Alpes. As a reminder, the CROUS makes daily life easier for millions of students in many ways: financial aid, housing, dining, employment, cultural activities, social support, and more.
Voting means standing up for your rights
It is important for students to be represented on the CRous boards of directors so they can advocate for their rights regarding financial aid, housing, dining, cultural activities, support for student initiatives, and campus life. The CROUS board of directors is a decision-making body: the seven elected student representatives make up about one-third of the board members, can influence CROUS policies and decisions, and take action to improve students’ living and working conditions. Voting takes only a few minutes, but the stakes are measured in years, as this important election affects your living and study conditions.
How do I vote?
Simply go to one of the polling stations on your campus during the designated hours, bringing your 2018–2019 student ID card.
Can’t make it in person? Vote by proxy! Each student may submit a maximum of two proxy votes. The proxy is a numbered form issued by your CROUS. The proxy form must be obtained by the student (principal) who wishes to grant a proxy. They should request this document from their educational institution. The form, completed by the principal, along with their student ID card, is then given to the student who will vote on their behalf (proxy).
