The Marge Sauvage association, the AIR Coop agency, and the team behind the "Agir pour le vivant" festival are organizing the "Agir pour les glaciers (et les écosystèmes qui leur succèdent)" festival in Bourg Saint Maurice from March 20 to 22, 2025, which aims to develop solutions and partnerships for the mountains. This festival is part of the ERABLE "Agir pour les glaciers" (Acting for Glaciers) action research project led by the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (USMB) in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Ecology.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The "Agir pour les glaciers" (Act for Glaciers) festival is three days to think, be inspired, and get involved in protecting glaciers and the ecosystems that depend on them in our mountain regions. It is an intergenerational festival: a gathering for residents, children, elected officials, local authorities, associations, and economic actors, as well as curious visitors and mountain users. It is also multidisciplinary, bringing together mountain stakeholders, artists, thinkers, athletes, scientists, and others to discuss the socio-ecological challenges facing mountains.
Through conferences, screenings, exhibitions, and discussions, the festival will highlight environmental issues related to Alpine glaciers and ways to take action to preserve them. The program includes scientific presentations, film and documentary screenings, artistic performances, and immersive exhibitions. Themed walks will allow visitors to observe the glaciers alongside experts, while interactive workshops will encourage collective reflection and the emergence of concrete solutions. Throughout the day, a café and bookshop (specializing in glaciers) will be open, followed in the evening by concerts, DJ sets, and dance performances: plenty of opportunities to get together.
