The Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP) is organizing a conference-debate as part of its Mercredis du LAPP series, which will take place on November 8, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the LAPP in Annecy. Before the conference, visitors will be able to visitthe EUTOPIA discovery area starting at 5:00 p.m. for exclusive discussions with scientists.
About the conference-debate
A scientific theory is neither an immutable law nor a mere opinion. Scientific findings are not just random facts. Both are the result of a process that draws on imagination as much as logical reasoning, and which stems from the insatiable curiosity of those who seek to better understand the world as it is. In a short lecture followed by an open discussion, Didier Verkindt, a physicist at LAPP, introduces us to the scientific process.
