The Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP) is organizing a lecture titled“From the Big Bang to the Present: A Journey Through Space and Time”as part of its “LAPP Wednesdays” series. The event will take place on March 13, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the LAPP facilities on the Annecy campus. Before the lecture, visitors will be able to tour the laboratory starting at 5:00 PM for an exclusive opportunity to interact with the scientists.
About the conference-debate
By observing the universe, we can attempt to reconstruct its history and develop a cosmological model that accounts for its evolution.
This lecture will explain how, over the past 100 years, scientific advances have provided the various pieces of the puzzle that, once assembled, form the current model. We will also see that despite undeniable successes, uncertainties and misunderstandings persist and constitute areas of research for modern cosmology.
This lecture will be presented byDominique Boutigny, a CNRS research director at LAPP.
About LAPP Wednesdays
In 2023-2024, to mark the Year of Physics, LAPP is launching a new series of free events: LAPP Wednesdays. One Wednesday per month, LAPP staff invite you to discover a different aspect of research at a free event open to all. The program will include lectures, tours, discussions, and workshops.
