LAPP and LAPTh Wednesdays – LHCb: Particle physics in real time

May 21, 2025, 5:00 p.m. - May 21, 2025, 7:00 p.m.

Wednesdays in May 25 web formatAs part of the LAPP and LAPTh Wednesdays, the Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP) and the Annecy-le-Vieux Laboratory of Theoretical Physics (LAPTh) are organizing a conference entitled "LHCb: Particle Physics in Real Time," which will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the LAPP premises on the Annecy campus.

This lecture will be presented by Jean-François Marchand, a researcher at LAPP. It will be possible to visit the laboratory before the lecture, starting at 5 p.m., for exclusive discussions with the scientists.

About visits

Before the conference, starting at 5 p.m., interested parties will have a special opportunity to visit the EUTOPIA Discovery Center and talk with scientists from LAPP and LAPTh.

About the conference

Immerse yourself in the LHCb experience at CERN, where particle physics meets real-time analysis, and discover how collisions are instantly scrutinized using innovative algorithms.

About LAPP and LAPTh Wednesdays

In 2024-2025, following the success of previous events, LAPP is organizing free monthly events: LAPP and LAPTh Wednesdays.

One Wednesday per month, scientists at LAPP invite you to discover a different aspect of research during a free event that is open to all. Lectures, tours, discussions, workshops... A range of formats accessible to all audiences will be offered throughout the year.
