June 12, 2024, 6:00 p.m. - June 12, 2024, 7:00 p.m.

Wednesdays, June 24(1)As part of the LAPP Wednesdays series, the Annecy Laboratory of Particle Physics (LAPP) is organizing a conference titled “ The Beauty of Mathematics "which will take place on June 12, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the premises of LAPP on the Annecy campus.
Visitors will be able to tour the laboratory before the conference, starting at 17h for exclusive interactions with scientists.

About the conference-debate

Mathematics is used daily by physicists, but it is also a constant presence in our everyday lives. For us, it is a useful everyday tool—indeed, an indispensable element for communicating and thinking—just like our language. Yet we rarely see it as an artistic realm where poetry and mystery intertwine, a continent of fascinating landscapes. Didier Verkindt, a CNRS researcher at LAPP, invites us to explore this continent and some of its magnificent landscapes.

About LAPP Wednesdays

In 2023-2024, to mark the Year of Physics, LAPP is launching a new series of free events: LAPP Wednesdays. One Wednesday per month, LAPP staff invite you to discover a different aspect of research at a free event open to all. The program will include lectures, tours, discussions, and workshops.
