The Laboratoire Langages, Littératures, Sociétés, Etudes Transfrontalières et Internationales (LLSETI) laboratory of theuniversité Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), in collaboration with the Migrant'scène festival, is organizing a conference on November 21st at 6pm at the Musée des beaux-arts in Chambéry entitled "Welcoming migrants at the U.S./Mexico border".
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The aim of the conference will be to provide a better understanding of where the migrants arriving at the border come from, the ways in which they are received by humanitarian organizations and US federal agents, and the place occupied by citizen mobilizations against anti-migration measures and the "wall" separating the two countries.
This conference will be hosted by Cléa Fortune, Senior Lecturer in American Civilization at Sorbonne Nouvelle University, with pre-recorded contributions from Fernanda Acevedo and Nimsi Arroyo, from the "Hospitalidad y Solidaridad" hostel in Mexico.
