The Languages, Literature, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies Laboratory (LLSETI) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), in collaboration with the Migrant'scène festival, is organizing a conference entitled "Welcoming Migrants at the U.S./Mexico Border."
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The aim of the conference will be to provide a better understanding of where migrants arriving at the border come from, how they are received by humanitarian organizations and US federal agents, and the role played by citizen mobilizations against anti-migration measures and the "wall" separating the two countries.
This conference will be moderated by Cléa Fortune, lecturer in American civilization at Sorbonne Nouvelle University, with pre-recorded contributions from Fernanda Acevedo and Nimsi Arroyo, from the "Hospitalidad y Solidaridad" hostel in Mexico.
