LIP/PC2S Clinical Research Seminar

October 12, 2017, 8:30 a.m. - October 12, 2017, 12:30 p.m.

Between 2014 and 2017, the Interuniversity Laboratory of Psychology – Personality, Cognition, Social Change (LIP/PC2S) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc conducted a pilot study involving unaccompanied minors and the child welfare professionals who support them. The Prevention Unit of LIP/PC2S, in partnership with the Savoie Departmental Council, is hosting a morning session to present and discuss the research: “Psychological and Psychopathological Characteristics of Unaccompanied Minors (UMs). Resilience Factors, Life Trajectories, Personality, and Social Integration.”

The seminar will take place on Thursday, October 12, 2017, in Lecture Hall 19 000 on the Jacob Bellecombette campus.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

The findings of this research will help further identify the specific needs of unaccompanied minors and highlight the factors contributing to their vulnerability, as well as the resources and strategies they employ in migration-related situations. It will also provide professionals with guidance on how to support this population. The morning session will conclude with a presentation on the concepts of acculturative stress and migration-related trauma.
