The Languages, Literature, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies (LLSETI) laboratory is organizing a seminar entitled "Landscapes" on Thursday, March 15, at the Jacob-Bellecombette campus, Building 10.

It falls under LLSETI's first axis, "Heritage, Environments, Mediation," with the "Environmental Humanities" team promoting interdisciplinary discussion around definitions, representations, and methodologies applied to the concept of landscape.

The March 15 meeting brings together:

  • Fabrice Mouthon, a medieval historian specializing in rural and mountain areas (latest publication: Le Sourire de Prométhée. L’homme et la nature au Moyen Âge [The Smile of Prometheus: Man and Nature in the Middle Ages], La découverte, 2017);
  • Charline Giguet-Covex, a geologist specializing in lake ecosystems and a research fellow at the Laboratoire Environnements, Dynamiques et Territoires de la Montagne (EDYTEM) in the "Environmental Archives" team.
