HDR thesis defense by Frédérique Hintzy

February 11, 2019, 2:00 p.m.

On Monday, February 11, 2019, Frédérique HINTZY, from the Inter-University Laboratory of Motor Biology (LIBM) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), will defend her habilitation to supervise research (HDR) based on her work entitled "Motor efficiency and its optimization factors. Application to cycling."

The defense will take place at 2 p.m. in the amphitheater of building 8E (formerly Vanoise) on the Bourget-du-Lac campus.

SUMMARY

The originality of my approach lies in exploring motor efficiency from different angles, both separately and in combination: energetic, biomechanical, muscular, and technological. This multifactorial approach should enable us to understand motor efficiency, from its specific features to its overall picture, in all its complexity. My work has therefore consisted of studying the factors that influence motor efficiency, gradually completing this synaptic diagram. Volume II of this Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) manuscript aims to explain the factors that optimize motor efficiency, particularly in cycling, through a synthesis of my scientific work. Research perspectives are also proposed. Volume I of this manuscript will include the publications I have had the opportunity to produce, as well as a summary of my teaching, administrative, and research activities over the past 17 years at the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc.
