As part of the event “ The Mountains Meet ” organized by the Montanea association from November 21 to 25 at the Le Manège convention center in Chambéry, a series of roundtable discussions on the topic of the Grand Labo will take place on Thursday, November 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

About:

The Grand Labo project arose from a partnership between the municipality of Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) and the USMB, with the aim of assessing the region’s carrying capacity in order to preserve quality of life, the environment, and natural resources. This transdisciplinary research and training project brings together more than 30 faculty members and researchers, seven laboratories, the USMB Partnership Foundation, and nearly 500 students. This four-year initiative will provide elected officials and the local population with operational indicators to equip the stakeholders driving the transition today and tomorrow.

Roundtable discussions with researchers will provide an opportunity to highlight certain aspects of this large-scale project. The following individuals will be on hand to present the project:

  • Nathalie Kardos: Associate Professor at the EDYTEM Laboratory
  • Christine Piot: Assistant Professor at the EDYTEM Laboratory
  • Florentin Moenne-Loccoz: Research Engineer in the Sustainable Tourism Chair at the USMB Foundation
