A writing workshop with François Bon – "Reality is an image"

December 5, 2019 12:00 a.m. - December 6, 2019, 12:00 a.m.

As part of the Bachelor of Arts program, and in conjunction with the Languages, Literatures, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies Laboratory (LLSETI – Heritage, Environments, Mediation / Environmental Humanities and Text, Image and Digital Arts / The Body in Question), the Department of Literature will welcome writer François Bon on December 5 and 6, 2019, for a writing workshop entitled "Reality is an Image."

A whole range of recent contemporary writings, from Jean-Christophe Bailly to Emmanuelle Pireyre, from Anne-James Chaton to Hélène Gaudy, are engaged in a new, inventive expression of the world around us, in which we construct ourselves, closely intertwining descriptions and fiction, giving rise to the fiction of perceptions, landscapes, and kinetics—interfering with film writing and the most current photographic research. How can we enter into dialogue with the invisible part of reality ourselves, and make writing reveal it? Two days during which we will share writing proposals, blog interactions, and the relationship between text and images.
