The first concert will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 , on the Bourget-du-Lac campus, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the student lounge (EVE – building 6). The theme will be "A Light Breeze from the Americas" andit will be conducted by Nicolas Chalvin.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
The American Quartet beautifully captures the special atmosphere that inspired Anton Dvorák when he discovered the New World in 1892. An untamed, wild nature that can also be found in the vast poetic spaces of Aaron Copland's music. The musical history of the American continent remains steeped in this spirit of freedom, which can be found in the works of Piazzolla, Romero, Nazareth, and even in the "lullabies" of Jacob Gerschowitz, who "Americanized" his name to Gershwin and went on to enjoy success with Broadway musicals. In this musical melting pot, where a real breath of fresh air is blowing, our musicians will perform in a new configuration as an unconducted chamber orchestra.
With the support of Musique Nouvelle en Liberté.
