ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The fifty years since Dino Buzzati's death have worked wonders for the author's reception, establishing him as one of the greatest in the canon of European fiction. The attention paid to him continues unabated, with the public at the forefront, and is in line with the emerging new critical perception, which is keen to emphasize the primacy of visuality. This visual character was an aspect that Buzzati had emphasized in his artistic production in his later years, with Poema a fumetti (1969) and I Miracoli di Val Morel (1971), alongside a more marked interest in the sacred and an intensification of his pictorial activity, in line with his interest in different artistic expressions.
