The University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) and its Langages, Literature, Societies, Cross-Border and International Studies (LLSETI) are pleased to welcome, on Tuesday, October 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the USMB President’s Office on Rue Marcoz in Chambéry, a novelist who ranks among the greatest names in French noir fiction: Dominique Manotti, author of Racket, Or noir, and Le rêve de Madoff.
His novels, often inspired by real events and thoroughly researched, tackle highly contemporary economic and social issues head-on. Written in a crisp, dynamic style, they use fiction to expose the unsavory mechanisms that govern our societies.
The discussion will focus in particular on the connection between crime fiction and news stories, and will be moderated by Dominique Lagorgette, a professor and researcher at USMB.
It will take place as part of the conference “Crime Fiction and Journalism, ” organized jointly by the University of Savoie Mont Blanc and the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour.
