About the conference
By its very nature, animal life produces waste; organic waste is intrinsically linked to life. From the dawn of urbanization, alongside the supply of water, food, and energy, waste disposal has been one of the fundamental problems to be managed by an increasingly densely populated human race. The use of manure as an organic fertilizer coincides with the emergence of agriculture. Selective collection of recyclable materials only increases the proportion of organic waste in what remains. Methane production is developing and contributing to energy independence. At the local or individual level, composting not only provides organic fertilizer, but also creates social ties. If selective collection of organic waste develops, what will be left to incinerate? A historical, geographical, and geopolitical overview
of the treatment of our organic waste!
