The lecture “Let’s Be ‘Zen’! A Reflection on the Value of Carbon, ” presented by Aude Pommeret, professor atthe Institute for Research in Management and Economics(IREGE),IAE Savoie Mont Blanc, will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in Chambéry (USMB Presidency).
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Following the Paris Agreement, France’s goal is to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions within its borders by 2050. This is the “ZEN” goal: net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, with residual gross emissions intended to be absorbed by carbon sinks such as forests, grasslands, and,
in the longer term, technical carbon capture and sequestration systems. This ambition must be reflected in behavioral changes and public and private investments. To trigger these changes, it is necessary to assign a value to carbon. Aude Pommeret participated as a scientific expert in the drafting of the report “The Value
of Climate Action,” published by France Stratégie in February 2019, under the direction of Alain Quinet.
