As part of the event “ Mountains Meet ” organized by the Montanea association from November 21 to 25 at the Le Manège convention center in Chambéry, an exhibition showcasing the research work of second-year STAPS students at USMB will be held on Wednesday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
About the exhibition:
Take a trip back in time through this exhibition of posters and videos, created by second-year physical education students at USMB, and discover the sports and teaching practices of the past. As part of a research project on the history of sports, they will be on site to present their work and invite you to take a trip back in time by exploring the forms and methods of sports practiced by French men and women in the last century.
Drawing on both archival documents and a synthesis of recent scholarly articles, the students’ research project involves presenting a historical sport in the form of a poster or a video. Analyzing the forms of the sport, the profiles of the participants, the equipment used, the venues, and the teaching or training methods will provide a better understanding of how the sport was practiced in the past.
