From March 5 to May 18, the "Plus d'égalité" (More Equality) Festival will take place on the campuses of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) and at partner venues. The goal of the various events at this festival is to take the time to ask questions, accept confrontation, imagine solutions, and above all, reflect and debate together on issues of equality. USMB offers conferences, round tables, and meetings with artists and specialists who will question our representations of the relationship between women and men.
On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Decottignies amphitheater at the USMB presidency, a conference will be held on "Understanding the Mechanism of Radicalization. What Can Lead Girls Down the Path of Radicalization?" with the participation of:
- Abdessalem Yahyaoui, PhD in psychopathology and clinical psychology at the Inter-University Laboratory of Psychology – Personality, Cognition, Social Change (LIP-PC2S), lecturer and researcher at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc,
- Jacqueline Costa-Lascoux, lawyer, psycho-sociologist, director of research at the CNRS, speaker forADRIC.
This professional conference is offered by the Departmental Delegation for Women's Rights and Equality – Prefecture of Savoie, organized bythe Departmental Association for the Development and Coordination of Actions for Foreigners in Savoie (ADDCAES).
About the conference
In recent years, radicalization has emerged and now affects people in our region. Women in intercultural situations may also be affected, either individually or as daughters, spouses, or family members. It seems necessary, first of all, to better understand and identify the forms of radicalization (what are the signs, what factors can be used to categorize the risk of radicalization, etc.) and to understand the process. The next step will be to explore how radicalization can be taken into account in intercultural support and how this, in working with people, including upstream, will enable situations to evolve favorably. The purpose of the professional conference is to provide insight and keys to understanding for professionals involved in supporting women in intercultural situations.
