The Laboratory for Design Optimization and Environmental Engineering (LOCIE) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc will host the launch of "Task 63" at the INES premises in the Hélios building on the Bourget-du-Lac campus.
Around twenty experts from around the world (Sweden, Canada, Italy, China, Germany, Denmark, France, Norway, Australia) and members of Task 63 will gather for an initial meeting from October 22 to 24, 2019.
This meeting will kick off the creation of a network of experts aroundthe Solar Academy University Research School (EUR) at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB).
What is "Task 63"?
Task 63 includes issues related to solar energy in connection with new neighborhood development and the renovation and redevelopment of existing neighborhoods.
The main objective of Task 63 is to assist developers, owners/associations, architects, urban planners, municipalities, institutions, and other key stakeholders in creating solar neighborhoods conducive to long-term solar access for energy production and natural lighting of buildings and outdoor environments—creating sustainable and healthy environments.
Task 63 will require dialogue and cooperation with key actors in neighborhood planning in each participating country. This cooperation will help identify obstacles and test strategies, methods, and tools for obtaining feedback on development needs. Local collaborations within municipalities are an important element that complements international cooperation within the task and connects task experts to practice and implementation in each country.
