SUMMARY
Focusing on the processes of disseminating knowledge produced by public research to industry, the originality of this research lies in considering the commercialization of science as a means rather than an end result. Instead of mapping the direct results of the science commercialization process, this work focuses on understanding the mechanisms and channels that underpin the transfer of public knowledge to industry. To address this phenomenon, I explored four different avenues of science commercialization: informal interactions, collaborative research projects, the role of research equipment, and human capital.
