Ciné sciences - Decorated caves, sacred sites, built-up areas. On the trail of the first artists and architects.

November 15, 2021 8:30 pm

The " Grottes ornées, sites sacrés, sites construits. On the trail of the first artists and architects ", presented by Jean-Jacques Delannoy, university professor at the EDYTEM laboratory, will take place on Monday November 15 at 8:30 pm at the Astrée cinema in Chambéry.

Admission is free. A valid health pass will be required for entry.

ABOUT THE SESSION

The study of decorated caves and rock art sites underlines their special place in the territories of past Paleolithic societies, as well as those of primitive peoples who practised little cave art.

Through examples taken from different continents (Europe, Australia, North America...), we take you on a journey through the history of these societies and their geography. Over and above their highly artistic character, these sites tell a singular story of the relationships these societies have maintained with their environment, the underground world, the sacred and others.
