Calls for projects

There are a number of calls for projects and calls for applications relating to international cooperation at various levels, aimed at promoting or strengthening cooperation, supporting international initiatives, encouraging mobility, etc.

International calls for projects:

Calls for projects from the University of Savoie Mont Blanc

Annual internal call for proposals within the institution to support:

  • the internationalization of training programs and audiences
  • the development of partnerships
  • the organization of international events
  • the launch of international projects

Call for projects to develop cross-border collaborations between Swiss institutions (University of Geneva, University of Lausanne, and University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO)) and French institutions (University of Grenoble Alpes, University of Lyon, and University of Savoie Mont Blanc).

Its objective is to intensify scientific research and create leverage to encourage institutions to participate in European funding programs.

Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)
Association of higher education and research institutions promoting cooperation in various forms; quality of education, research, and governance; improving the employability and professional integration of graduates; involvement of universities in the economic, social, and cultural development of societies.

International call for proposals "AUF-COVID-19.2"
General objective: to promote the contribution of AUF member higher education and research institutions to the development of solutions with a technological and/or social impact to address the difficulties caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Specific objective: to develop innovative, frugal initiatives adapted to the ecosystem in order to support societies weakened by the consequences of a prolonged health crisis.

Germany

Franco-German University (UFA)
The UFA supports Franco-German bi- and tri-national degree programs, PhD-Track programs, Franco-German doctoral colleges, joint supervision of theses, and the organization of Franco-German events for young researchers (doctoral students and/or post-docs).

For Franco-Bavarian university cooperation in research and teaching

2022 Forcheurs Prize
Conditions:

  • Have one member of the pair employed by a French institution and the other by a German institution.
  • Be part of a research laboratory in France or Germany, affiliated with a higher education institution, research organization, company, or support structure (competitiveness cluster, cluster).
  • Be under 45 years of age;
  • Currently collaborating on a joint research project;
  • Conduct research in the fields of chemistry, health, and/or pharmacology.

For scientific and academic cooperation projects related to Latin America

Finland

Maupertuis Program
Short-term researcher mobility: to enable selected researchers from France and Finland to meet their counterparts for a short period (from a few days to two weeks).
"Education, Research, and Innovation" workshops: to support specific, practical workshops in Finland or France in all areas of research excellence, in order to strengthen existing collaborations between researchers in France and Finland. It is recommended that workshops have specific, concrete topics and last two or three days, involving several researchers. These workshops should cover the three pillars of the knowledge triangle: research, education, and innovation.

Lebanon

Action Lebanon
A Franco-Lebanese call to support urgent, rapid, and structural research projects, lasting a maximum of 18 months, whose scientific relevance is linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent multidimensional crises that have occurred at a critical time in Lebanon's history.

Netherlands

Van Gogh Program
This program supports the mobility of French and Dutch researchers within the framework of a joint research project.

Descartes-Huygens Prize
This prize recognizes a French scientist and a Dutch scientist for their contribution to Franco-Dutch cooperation.

Quebec

Permanent Commission for Franco-Quebec Cooperation (CPCFQ)
As an instrument for coordinating exchanges between the Quebec and French administrations, the CPCFQ is responsible for developing and implementing a biennial program of Franco-Quebec cooperation activities based on the target themes and priorities defined by the Quebec and French governments. Its goal is to encourage the development of new projects.

Franco-Quebec Council for University Cooperation (CFQCU)
For university cooperation between France and Quebec and the implementation of programs aimed at establishing strategic partnerships in teaching and research.

CFQCU – Samuel De Champlain Program
This program is intended for professors and researchers in all disciplines and aims in particular to:

  • develop strategic inter-university partnerships between France and Quebec
  • support emerging collaborations between high-potential teams, both in France and Quebec
  • support innovative projects that have a structuring effect and offer interesting long-term prospects
  • encourage collaboration with actors outside the academic world (public, semi-public, private, or non-profit sectors)
  • promote the integration of French and Quebec universities into international research and training networks

Russia

Call for applications "Vernadski"
Doctorates in Franco-Russian joint supervision
The French Embassy in Russia is awarding doctoral scholarships in joint supervision for the year 2022. This funding covers four calendar years (three academic years) and alternates between stays in France and Russia. All scientific disciplines are eligible.
This call for applications is open from September 20 to December 17, 2021.

Metchnikov Scholarships

Scholarships awarded by the French Embassy in Russia to host Russian researchers invited to work in French research teams (for 1 to 3 months)

Ostrogradski Scholarships
Scholarships awarded by the French Embassy in Russia to students enrolled in doctoral programs in Russia and invited by a French research team to conduct fieldwork for a period of two to four months. All scientific disciplines are eligible.
